Google.cm and More Used for Typosquatting (December 10, 2007)Source: Google Blogoscoped (http://blogoscoped.com) | Just noticed that if you mistype certain Google domains , they redirect to different affiliate programs.
Affected domains:
www.google.cm -- Redirects to Netflix affiliate program
www.gmail.cm -- Redirects to Netflix affiliate program
mail.google.cm -- Redirects to Blockbuster affiliate program
youtube.cm -- Redirects to an ad page
grandcentral.cm -- Redirects to agoga.com
The .cm TLD belongs to Cameroon. I stumbled upon the first redirected domain name after I misstyped gmail.com. Wonder how many visitors end up on the wrong web site because of a misspelling with .com domain names.

Google.cat (November 8, 2007)Source: Google Blogoscoped (http://blogoscoped.com) | Jaume emailed in the news that www.google.cat is now available. "The .cat TLD (Top Level Domain) is established to serve the needs of the Catalan Linguistic and Cultural Community on the Internet," Domini.cat explains. There's also googlecat.com, though that one (while showing "Google Català" logo) seems to be unofficial. Google.com/intl/ca/ also exists, but I think that URL doesn't sound quite as cool as Google.cat. Now, anyone going to register lol.cat? [Thanks Jaume Miró!] |

Elle utilise maintenant sa propre méthode pour les 25 langues accessibles sur son site: la seule puissance de ses machines et les milliards de données qu'elles traitent, sans traducteur ni logiciel de traduction.
Ce système consiste à mettre en parallèle des mots dans chacune des deux langues et des textes traduits par les humains puis à leur appliquer des techniques d'apprentissage statistique, comme l'a expliqué Franz Och , un des chercheurs de l'équipe.
